SimpliFix

Technology

SimpliFix is a revolutionary fixation device for use with intracapsular femoral neck (hip) fractures. This technology aims to reduce the incidence of complications that other devices and techniques have failed to address.

The Benefits

How it Works

PRESERVE NECK LENGTH

SimpliFix utilizes surgeon-controlled compression and resists femoral neck shortening. Maintaining the patient’s natural anatomy and preserving femoral neck length has been shown to improve postoperative pain and functional outcomes.

Pre-loading

Maintaining femoral neck length can improve function and reduce pain, while avoiding non-union and the need for costly revision procedures.

Post-loading

CONTROL ROTATION

Using a novel cross-screw technique, SimpliFix may minimize rotation of the femoral head. Maintaining rotational stability is a critical factor in preventing displacement and subsequent femoral neck shortening.

Controlling rotation of the femoral head about the axis of the neck helps to stabilize the fracture, preventing displacement and neck shortening.

REDUCE AVN RISK

Reducing the volume of hardware traversing the femoral neck and head helps preserve blood supply, reducing the risk of avascular necrosis. Two screws have been shown to decrease the incidence of AVN while maintaining favorable outcomes.

Minimizing the surface area of implants promotes blood supply, reducing the risk for AVN and costly hemi- and total arthroplasty revision procedures.
